"I envision Sandy as a city where housing remains affordable so residents can live near their family in the community they love. Neighborhoods should feel safe enough for an evening stroll or a walk to the park. Sandy businesses shouldn't just survive but thrive with both resident and city support. Our first responders and city employees should have the equipment and training they need to respond quickly to any situation. Above all, every resident should feel heard, valued, and respected knowing their voice matters in shaping the future of our city."

OUR CITY, MY COMMITMENT

KEY ISSUES

HOUSING AFFORDABILITY

Responsible growth helps us achieve a balance between first-time homes and forever homes. Sandy should prioritize owner-occupied, for-purchase homes.

1

RESPECT, REPRESENTATION, & TRANSPARENCY

When people feel empowered to share their perspectives, we create a stronger, more connected community - one where everyone has a stake in building a thriving city. Open conversations, transparency, and accessible leadership make sure residents are heard, respected, and included in decisions shaping Sandy City.

2

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Businesses should feel comfortable reaching out to the city for support. Sandy should also be desirable enough as a city for businesses to open, move, and stay here.

3

COMMUNITY & PUBLIC SAFETY

Maintenance: Residents shouldn't have to worry about crumbling sidewalks, streets with potholes, and speeders to enjoy their neighborhoods. The city should make maintaining infrastructure a priority.

Safety: Communities should be safe enough for children to ride their scooters, residents to walk their dogs, and everyone to enjoy a peaceful stroll. Departments should be funded and staffed at levels that allow them to keep our neighborhoods safe.

4

FIRST RESPONDERS

Proper equipment and training are essential for first responders to perform effectively. Response times are directly influenced by staffing levels and funding, making investment in these resources a priority. By ensuring responders have the tools and knowledge they need, Sandy can retain skilled professionals and maintain a high standard of emergency preparedness.

5

CITY EMPLOYEES

City employees keep the cogs of Sandy running. Without their hard work and support, we'd go without crucial services like snow plows and water infrastructure maintenance, to name a few. City employees need strong support and resources to ensure they stay in Sandy.
