Dear Sandy

"Dear Sandy,

For the past five and a half years, I've served as your District 2 City Council representative, and now I'm ready to take the next step as your mayor.

I was born and raised in Sandy and have lived here nearly my entire life, aside from my Army training and a brief time spent in an apartment before settling into my home. I love this city. I have fond memories of playing in the gully, riding Big Rock's trails, and celebrating as new businesses opened their doors. This is why I chose to raise my children in Sandy, so they could have similar experiences too.

Growing up, Sandy was booming, so much so that schools couldn't keep up. I was bussed to junior high in Olympus Cove, where I remember the surprise and admiration from classmates when I said I was from Sandy. At the time, I didn't fully grasp what made Sandy so special, but I do now.

That sense of pride and desirability is what I want to bring back. I'm running for mayor because I believe we can make Sandy a place people are excited to call home again, not just somewhere they're from. Together, we can shape a future that honors our roots and strengthens Sandy's reputation as one of the most sought-after cities on the Wasatch Front."
